At Vineyard Veterinary Clinic, we provide urgent care services during our regular hours when availability allows. However, it’s important to understand that we are not a 24/7 emergency hospital, and our ability to see urgent cases may be limited.

We do our best to accommodate urgent concerns, but:

We have limited hours of operation
We are closed on Saturdays
Our team may have capacity constraints during busy times
We are not always on-call after hours

If your pet is experiencing a true emergency, the safest option is to seek care at a fully equipped veterinary emergency hospital.

For guidance outside of our regular hours, we recommend using VetTriage, a trusted telehealth service that connects you with a licensed veterinarian.

They can help you:

Determine if your pet’s condition is an emergency
Decide whether immediate travel is necessary
Get professional advice when our clinic is closed

When to Seek Emergency Care

For serious or life-threatening conditions, we strongly recommend going directly to a 24/7 emergency facility, where dedicated teams and advanced equipment are available at all times.

The nearest 24/7 hospital is off-island, but these facilities are best equipped to handle:

Severe injuries or trauma
Difficulty breathing
Continuous vomiting or seizures
Collapse or unresponsiveness
Urgent Care on the Island

We understand that traveling off-island isn’t always practical. When appropriate and when we have availability, we may be able to evaluate urgent cases here in the clinic.

In some situations, an on-island urgent care visit can help:

Assess your pet’s condition
Provide initial treatment
Determine if referral or emergency care is needed
